CTB 2022-2023 accepts two types of projects: the Research Project and the Innovation Project. Participants can only choose one of these two categories, and cannot submit to both.
Conduct research, experiment, record and present your research process and results on a subject with academic value. The main value of academic research projects is to share and accumulate knowledge. CTB highly encourages research projects with potential for practical application. Teams and individuals who initiate such projects are required to submit a complete academic research paper that includes abstract, background introduction, research methods, analysis of results, and discussion.
This project is a practical action with an innovation purpose (such as entrepreneurship, invention, charitable actions) and includes detailed record and analysis of the results of the project. Innovation projects must be based in academic research and prove that their designs are reasonable and effective, and its core component is specific actions that address pressing societal issues. Teams and individuals who initiate such projects are required to submit a complete paper of innovation project that includes an abstract, background, action plan description, effectiveness verification, discussion, and other components.
Your paper submitted to the CTB Conference will be reviewed by the CTB paper review committee, which consists of over 100 professors, scholars, high school academic advisors, and professionals from a wide range of industries from our global partner institutions, including Harvard, Yale, Peking University, Tsinghua University, New York University, and ShanghaiTech University. The criteria for selection to the Conference are double-blind, so participation in the CTB Standard Program or Guided Program will not affect your selection to the CTB Conference at all.
The National and Global Conference judges will include Harvard professors, scholars, educators, etc. We will invite experts and famous business executives according to the fields to which the participating projects belong. Projects that achieve excellent performance in the National Chinese Conference will be invited to the Harvard Global English Conference to present their projects to everyone along with junior scholars from other regions of the world. There are limited spots at the Global Conference, and all selected projects will be included in the CTB Special Edition under the Harvard Young Scholar Academic Journal (YSA), realizing the dream of publishing papers in high school at a high level.
