Why Join CTB?
As you embark on this new challenge, we are excited to share with you all the benefits of CTB. CTB is open to all students in grades 9-12, regardless of nationality or race. You may initiate a self-selected CTB project as an individual or as a team of up to 10 people.
Publish your first academic paper
CTB aims to provide an event for the exchange of academic research and tangible innovation, where participants can combine topics across disciplines and submit project papers on academic research or innovative actions. The results of the papers are reviewed and evaluated by experts and scholars and can be included in the CTB Digital Library and CTB Proceedings as your first academic publication. This will become a strong point on your resume and can be used to prove your academic research and collaboration skills to universities in the future. Through publication, your academic papers and practical impact are better seen by the world and recognized by industry and research institutions.
Produce academic results from the ground up
If you are just starting to get into academic research and want to build a more solid foundation for your future academic career, CTB will provide you with rich, academic resources from top universities around the world such as Peking University and Harvard. CTB Academic Committee members will help you break down the academic research and paper writing process into several tasks progressing from easy to difficult based on traditional academic research methods. As you complete each task, you will be provided with academic materials, writing templates, and online lectures to ensure that you can successfully complete your research project and truly master scientific and academic research methods.
If you choose the Guided Program, you will also receive more in-depth, one-on-one, real-time academic assistance throughout your journey from mentors at Harvard and other world-renowned universities, including guidance on topic selection at the project submission stage, writing coaching at the draft stage, defense coaching in preparation for the live conference.
Converse with international scholars and experts
At the CTB National and Global Conferences, you will represent the young generation of junior scholars, conversing with international scholars and premier industry experts in your field of study, learning about cutting-edge developments in your academic research field and its application in the industry, and gaining in-depth insights on future research opportunities and potential academic resources.
Collaborate with like-minded students
At the CTB National and Global Conferences, you will meet hundreds of peers from around the world who, like you, have come here with their own original results after a long period of academic research. You will listen to their presentations, propose questions, and discuss at each other's academic achievement booths to inspire each other and form lasting friendships. In addition, there will be a National CTB Club Carnival, where presidents and members from all over the country will gather to exchange and create CTB culture together.
Make an Impact on Your Community
Through CTB, you will perform in-depth academic research on a topic of your interest - but it doesn’t stop there. We encourage you to implement your research ideas into an actionable plan, where you’ll have the opportunity to solve a problem in your community and cultivate real, positive change. With your research, you will have a well-developed basis for translating your research into concrete actions and apply your research directly in your local community. Past teams have chosen to run artistic initiatives, conduct public outreach, organize business ventures, start non-profits, create online platforms, and design new technologies. These are just a few of the many possible effective project implementation strategies, and we encourage you to get creative! Throughout this process, you have the opportunity to produce real, measurable social impact and become part of the next generation of trailblazers and innovators.
Efficient remote collaboration model
In a future world where remote collaboration is essential for any international talent, CTB will help you adapt to a highly efficient way of working as quickly as possible. We'll organize more online team events so you can be more productive when working with teammates outside your city. We'll also provide you with the latest online collaboration tools that startups are using. From anywhere in the world, you can communicate with your teammates and your coaches. We want you to think of CTB's online collaboration model as a way to build the skills you'll need for college and even for work. We want you not only to adapt to the changes of this era, but more importantly, to blossom in this era!
Dedicated coaching and one-on-one guidance
We require each team to be matched with a coach, who will help mentor and guide you to improve throughout the challenge. Your coach can be someone you get in touch with yourself from school, from home, or through any personal means. These coaches will be trained on the rules and best research practices so that they know exactly how they can help you. In addition to the general training provided by the CTB organizing committee, your coach will be the person you turn to for advice. If you choose the Advanced Mentoring Program (Guided Program), CTB will also provide you with the opportunity to have more in-depth, multiple 1-on-1 real-time coaching sessions with mentors from world-renowned universities such as Harvard.
